History

The Sales and Marketing Institute International is the premiere professional body of sales and marketing practitioners in the world. Through its global network and affiliates, SMI provides a dynamic forum for sales and marketing professionals to advance their careers through certifications, research, professional development, networking and advocacy of the highest ethical and practice standards. SMI aims to deliver world-class support to empower its members with the knowledge and skills they need to excel in the profession.

Founded by Australian Sales and Marketing Institute which was originally formed in 1994, SMI aims to be the champion of the sales profession. SMI was established along with other member countries from Asia and Europe to become the largest institute of sales professionals in the world. SMI aims to promote knowledge and professionalism among sales professionals and foster wide understanding of the role of sales in the business.  

The Institute is proud to have membership of over 8,000 sales directors, managers, and professionals from leading companies around the world.
